You can actually use these rhythms of nature to add and let go of things in your daily life. Certain times of these cycle are especially potent and can be utilized for maximum effect. (The Moon, being closest to Earth, affects the tides and plant growth, as well as humans.) So by following the phases of the Moon, and working with the tides, you can affect your level of success, as well as spiritual and material growth in all your endeavors. Also, since our bodies are composed of about seventy-five percent liquid, it follows that the Moon, which moves and influences the Earth's oceans, also moves and greatly influences the human body. So by working with the Moon, you can also control up to 80% of your health.

At NAAM YOGA® LA we offer Full Moon and New Moon Rituals and Celebrations. The New Moon occurs when the Moon's un-illuminated side is facing the Earth. The Moon is not visible (except during a solar eclipse). The New Moon marks the beginning of a period when the universe is on your side for manifesting and bringing new things into your life. This is a time for new beginnings, fresh starts, rebirth. The Waxing Moon occurs as the Moon becomes visible in the sky, moving from the New Moon toward the Full Moon. The period of the Waxing Moon lasts about 14 days. This is a time for positive change and growth, new beginnings, starting new projects or a new job, conceptualizing ideas, manifestation, attainment. The Full Moon occurs when the Moon has reached its zenith and forms a perfect silvery sphere in the sky. This is a time for strength, intuition, and power for healing. The Waning Moon means the Moon is becoming less visible, moving from the Full Moon toward the New Moon. The period of the Waning Moon lasts about 14 days. This is a time to break unhealthy patterns, cleanse and let go. This is your quiet time, contemplation, research, prayer and meditation.
